You will love playing in the warm waters of Quail Creek State Park, which is located in the southwestern area of Utah. Anglers fish here year-round for crappie, trout, bullhead catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass. Visitors can swim and enjoy boating activities, and you can either bring your own boat or rent small personal watercraft from the on-site concessionaire. If you stay at the park, you will appreciate the shaded picnic table and fire ring that is available at each site. The park is 14 miles north of St. George, Utah, which is home to Dixie State University. Zion National Park is a 30-minute drive to the east, and Las Vegas is only a couple of hours to the southwest.

WillowWind RV Park
WillowWind RV Park is located in the town of Hurricane, about 25 minutes northeast of St. George. They have been in business for many years, and the park has large trees that offer plenty of shade for most of the sites. Other conveniences include several communal fire pits, newly renovated showers and bathrooms, and a two-story log-cabin clubhouse with a pool table upstairs and an outside barbecue area.

Inside Quail Creek State Park
There is no shortage of activities for all to enjoy while visiting Quail Creek State Park. The water is warm and inviting, and you will love cruising around on a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. There are many species of fish in this well-stocked lake, and fishing is a popular pastime here every season of the year. If you enjoy lacing up your shoes and striking out on foot, there are a number of interesting hiking and biking trails both in and right outside the park.

Sightseeing
Zion National Park
Zion National Park is ranked at the top of many people's list of must-see sights in the state of Utah. The park covers 232 square miles inside Washington, Kane, and Iron counties in the southwestern corner of the state. You will find deep sandstone canyons, high plateaus, and the Virgin River. There are 2,000-foot-high Navajo sandstone cliffs, stands of pine and juniper, springs, waterfalls, and lush and vivid hanging gardens. There is also a large variety of wildlife in the park, including 291 species of birds.

Highway 12 Scenic Byway
The Highway 12 Scenic Byway is a stretch of highway that begins at the intersection of U.S. 89 and continues on to Capitol Reef, traveling through Escalante and Loa. The segment between Escalante and Capitol Reef is the most spectacular part of the byway as it passes through the Grand Staircase and features a number of scenic overlooks offering amazing views.

Bryce Canyon National Park
Bryce Canyon National Park is famous for its red hoodoos, which are spire-shaped rock formations. The main road in the park begins at the large Bryce Amphitheater, a bowl-shaped depression filled with hoodoos. There are overlooks at Bryce Point, Sunset Point, Sunrise Point, and Inspiration Point.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area
Covering more than 1.2 million acres of land, the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area stretches from the Grand Canyon at Lees Ferry in Arizona to the Orange Cliffs in southern Utah. Glen Canyon is home to Lake Powell, the second-largest man-made lake in the U.S. The entire park features a diverse environment of forests, deserts, and canyons replete with unique geological formations.

Snow Canyon State Park is not named for having snow; the name comes from the Snows, a pair of pioneers in Utah. This is a beautiful park that possesses many natural wonders, including lava cones, cactus gardens, and sand dunes. How to Get to
Quail Creek State Park
Quail Creek State Park is 14 miles north of St. George, 34 miles from Zion National Park, 132 miles from Las Vegas, and 293 miles south of Salt Lake City. From Interstate 15, take Exit 16 and continue 3 miles east on SR 9. Turn left on SR 318 and continue to the park entrance.
