Rocky Point COE
Rocky Point COE is a campground located near Wright Patman Lake, meaning it's virtually right next to Atlanta State Park. Spots here are around $26 per night with adjustments made depending on the type of hookups you want; all spots include either 30-amp or 50-amp electricity and water with many also including sewer. All sites have a hard parking pad for RVs and feature amenities like restrooms, showers, grills, a dump station, fire rings, playgrounds and areas for pets.
RV Corral is a Queen City RV park only a few miles out from Atlanta State Park. All 45 sites available at the park come with electrical, water and sewer hookups for $30 per night, and good Wi-Fi is available all across the area. Showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, pet areas, a community activity room and more are all available for guests at no extra charge.

Inside Atlanta State Park
When you visit Atlanta State Park, you'll have tons of things to enjoy to get closer to nature and have fun while doing it. Wright Patman Lake is quite large and offers plenty of space for activities ranging from swimming to fishing to boating and beyond, though be careful as there is no lifeguard on duty. Fishing is especially popular given the absolutely enormous catfish that inhabit the lake. There's also plenty of trails to hike and species of birds and other animals to observe.

If you're looking for a change of pace to help make the most of your trip, you can step out of Atlanta State Park for a bit to visit the cities surrounding it. For a great vacation, try out these restaurants, shops and places of interest while you're there.
At Luigi's Italian Cafe, you can dine on some absolutely fabulous Italian food at fantastic prices. No restaurant of this caliber would be worth opening without some great pasta dishes, so make sure you try out some of their spaghetti with your choice of meat sauce, meatballs, mushrooms or Italian sausage. Chicken parmigiana, calzones, steak and pizza help round out the menu along with a nice selection of desserts, including cheesecake, tiramisu and cannoli.

Rickey's Rib Shack BBQ is a great local eatery specializing in smoked meats. Catfish King in Atlanta is a fantastic seafood restaurant that takes full advantage of being next to Wright Patman Lake to serve up some of the best catfish you'll ever eat. Wright Patman is known for how large these creatures get, so expect a hearty helping when you stop in for a meal. The catfish and many other fantastic menu items, like hush puppies, shrimp and other types of fish, make it an all-around amazing eating experience.

The Atlanta Historical Museum is an educational center in the heart of Atlanta. The museum is especially good for kids as exhibits are crafted at a level that is easy for younger audiences to understand.

The Atlanta Sports Complex is a recreation area filled to bursting with opportunities for physical fun. How to Get to
Atlanta State Park
In order to get to Atlanta State Park, you'll most often find yourself approaching from the city of Atlanta, Texas. Go northward on Highway 59 until it changes into FM 59. From there, head west for around 9 miles until you can turn right onto FM 1154. Drive for another 2 miles or so before turning left onto Park Road 42, an unpaved road that leads directly to the park.
Entering Atlanta State Park
Once you've reached Atlanta State Park, you can enter it by simply driving down Park Road 42 until reaching the entrance gates to pay your fees. The park is open for day use from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
