South Cumberland State Park RV & Campground Guide
South Cumberland State Parksits within four different Tennessee counties – Sequatchie, Franklin, Marion, and Grundy – and is composed of 30,845 acres offering hiking and backcountry camping opportunities. The park features beautiful waterfalls, cascading streams, rocky gorges, lush woodlands, and spectacular rock formations. Visitors come to see the large waterfalls, with the tallest being Foster Falls in Marion County. Twelve trailheads provide hiking access through most sections of the park's unique ecosystems and ravines of the Southern Cumberland Plateau. The visitor center contains exhibits illustrating local history and wildlife with some audio and visual presentations available. Three main cities located near the state park are Monteagle, Tracy City, and Cowan.

Foster Falls Campground
Foster Falls Campground sits inside of South Cumberland State Park. There are 26 rustic campsites ideal for tents and small trailers with no hookups, but heated showers and restrooms are available. All sites have a fire pit ring and a picnic table. The campsites are within walking distance of over 90 miles of backpacking trails, rock climbing, and a swimming pool. Pets are also welcome.

Inside South Cumberland State Park
South Cumberland State Park boasts 90 miles of backpacking trails ranging from easy to rugged that give hikers panoramic overlooks, lush woodlands, waterfalls, and streams to observe. Swimming areas are available at Grundy Lakes, in addition to splash pools and creeks located in the park. Grundy Lakes also permits smaller boats with paddles and trolling motors for fishing and outdoor water recreational activities. The park has four large pavilions for party gatherings and eight other remote picnic areas with grills. Other amenities include beach volleyball, tennis, horseshoes, basketball, and baseball; if you don't have the proper equipment for these games, you can rent them at the park office.
Outside South Cumberland State Park
Although you can find much to do and see inside the state park, the surrounding area also provides great exploration opportunities. You'll find different cultural restaurants that serve authentic Chinese, Italian, and American dishes. You can take care of your retail itch by shopping at the many shops outside the park. Many attractions are also available in the nearby cities, from a zoo and aquarium to museums and other fascinating adventures.

How to Get to
South Cumberland State Park
From Monteagle, you'll want to head east on West Main Street toward Winston Avenue. Turn left onto Fairmont Avenue. This road will turn slightly right and become US 41 South/Tracy Road. Go roughly two miles and turn left into the state park.
