Laurel Hill State Park RV & Campground Guide

Pennsylvania

Tree-lined hills run directly to the water's edge at Laurel Hill State Park, creating one of the most spectacular wilderness experiences in Pennsylvania. It's a far cry from the early 1900s, when the area was desolate, stripped of trees, and ravaged by wildfire. Today, the thriving forest is home to 15 miles of hiking trails and countless critters, and the manmade lake is a lovely spot for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. To explore the only remaining old-growth forests, head to Hemlock Trail and hike among the ancient trees. Laurel Hill is beautiful all year; in the fall, the leaves turn to fiery oranges, and in the winter, the blanket of snow is perfect for sledding and snowmobiling. With Somerset sitting just 10 miles east and Pittsburgh an easy 63-mile drive to the west, getting to the park is a breeze.
