Colton Point State Park RV & Campground Guide

Pennsylvania

Perched on the rim of a canyon in the northern reaches of Pennsylvania, Colton Point State Park offers some of the most spectacular views in the state. When you hike to one of the park's overlooks, you'll understand why this area is often compared to the Grand Canyon — the steep walls of Pine Creek Gorge cut a dramatic path through the thickly forested mountains that stretch for miles in every direction. This is a hiker's paradise, with steep, challenging trails running through the hills, past waterfalls, and down to the waters of Pine Creek. If you're tough enough to make the trek, you can fish for trout and bass, often without seeing another soul. Colton Point is most accessible from spring to fall, and hardy adventurers can find thrilling snowmobile options after the end of the deer-hunting season each December. Whenever you visit, plan to stop in nearby Wellsboro or tiny Rexford for supplies.
