Dublin, California is in the heart of the Bay Area. It’s about 35 miles east of San Francisco — far enough away from the loud urban environment of the city, but close enough that there’s still lots of interesting things to see, do, and eat. And of course, Dublin still enjoys California’s sunshine and coastal climate.
It’s named for the city of the same name in Ireland by its original settlers who were — no surprise here — of Irish descent. The Irish heritage is still strong in Dublin especially on St. Patrick’s Day. It’s also close to wine country, so you can relax with a glass of local red or white at the end of a long day. The city is a great destination for outdoor fun as well. If your travels take you through the Bay Area, stop by in an RV rental Dublin CA!
This site offers visitors numerous opportunities to learn about the area’s history. There are two museums in the park: the 1856 Murray Schoolhouse and the Kolb House. In addition, there are picnic areas, a historic cemetery, and much more in the park’s ten acres. The buildings are open in the afternoon from Wednesday through Sunday, and admission is free. The Dublin Heritage Park and Museum is a perfect attraction for your RV rental Dublin California adventure!
If you’re looking for a picture perfect park for a long hike or bike ride, you’ll love the 5000+ acres at Pleasonton Ridge Regional Park. Walk, jog, or ride as you admire the stunning views of the valley and all of the greenery surrounding you. It’s fairly rugged — there’s lots of wildlife but no picnic areas — but that’s intentional: the space is intentionally undeveloped to preserve its pristine nature. The park’s hours more or less correspond to available daylight.
Of course, if a park that’s a bit less free form is more your speed, you’ll want to check out Dublin’s Emerald Glen Park. Offering more structured outdoor fun like a kids’ water park, a skate park, a playground, tennis and basketball courts, soccer fields, and even a bocce court, this park is a great place for the whole family. Pack a lunch to enjoy in the picnic area. There are trails too, so you’ve got the best of everything.
While the two parks mentioned in the above section are great, they don’t offer camping facilities. Fortunately, Del Valle Regional Park does. There are over 20 sites with full hookups, and over 100 more with none. Campers also have access to restrooms and showers. During the day, the park offers swimming beaches, boat rentals, fishing, and more. Del Valle Regional Park will accomodate your motorhome rental Dublin CA!
Located on the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton (it’s just south of Dublin), this RV park has 176 paved full hookup sites. There are restrooms with showers plus laundry facilities, free wifi, and close proximity to Dublin and the whole Bay Area. Pets are welcome too.
If your RV adventures include lots of off road riding, you might be pleased to know that you can both ride and stay at this park, which is located less than 30 miles east of Dublin. The camping facilities are adequate (there are restrooms and coin-op showers), though there are no sites with full hookups. However, if you plan to spend the day riding the trails, the on-site campground is certainly convenient.
