Motorhome, Camper and RV Rentals Colorado

Colorado

Colorado is a beautiful state to visit at any time of the year. In winter, ski season is in full swing at Colorado's excellent ski resorts, and if you visit in spring, you can hike the Rocky Mountains among fields of wildflowers. Summer is bright and sunny without being too hot, and the fall is a showcase of spectacular autumn foliage. Getting an RV rental in Colorado is one of the best ways to travel around the state. You can easily find the perfect Colorado RV rental on RVshare.

It is helpful to know what types of motorhomes and campers are available before you begin your search for motorhome rentals in Colorado. RVs are grouped according to size and type:

RV Campgrounds in Colorado

A great campground can make for a wonderful RV trip. In the state of Colorado, there are plenty of great campgrounds to consider. Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort is located close to Colorado Springs and is near many popular attractions. There are 75 RV sites that can accommodate the largest RVs, and the sites themselves are beautifully landscaped with flowers and natural rock walls. There is a hot tub, a laundry room and a clubhouse with a TV. There are also hot showers here. The waffle bar on Sunday mornings is a big hit with guests.

It is easy to visit Estes Park while staying at the Paradise on the River campground. There are 33 RV sites, and they are all large and shady. Located on the Big Thompson River, the Paradise on the River campground is only 1 mile from Rocky Mountain National Park. Its amenities include a laundry facility, free Wi-Fi and hot showers.

US National & State Parks in Colorado

Colorado has four national parks. The most well-known is Rocky Mountain National Park, which is about 70 miles northwest of Denver. Hiking, fishing and wildlife viewing are top activities here.

Mesa Verde National Park is home to more than 600 cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Pueblo people, who lived here from around 600 to 1300 AD. There are almost 5,000 archaeological sites at Mesa Verde, some of which are the best preserved in the country. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is located along 12 miles of the Gunnison River in the Black Canyon. Visitors go there to fish, hike, kayak and climb.

The Great Sand Dunes National Park is a desert-like landscape that is uniquely situated between mountains, aspen and conifer forests, tundra and alpine lakes. You can see the tallest sand dunes in North America at this park.

RV Storage Facilities in Colorado

You may need to break your trip up a bit and store your rental RV. Fortunately, there are many good RV storage facilities located throughout Colorado. You can leave your RV in a fenced and locked area, and many of these facilities have surveillance cameras. Check out Garden of the Gods Self Storage in Colorado Springs that offers indoor storage for RVs. Secure RV Storage Denver is the largest storage facility for RVs in the Denver area.

Dumpstations in Colorado

There are lots of dumpstations throughout Colorado. You can find them at RV campgrounds and many other places. Colorado Springs, Buena Vista, Aurora, Fort Collins, Greeley, Walden and Littleton are just a few of the cities with dumpstations available. Many RV storage facilities, including Secure RV Storage Denver, have dumpstations for the convenience of RVers. Also, Colorado parks, like Kaibab Park in Granby, often accommodate their RV visitors with free on-site dumpstations.

Popular Tourist Attractions for an RV Rental in Colorado

Strawberry Park Hot Springs is a great place to visit and unwind. These natural springs are perfect for soaking while looking out on wonderful vistas. There are also lots of hiking trails nearby.

Winter is a great time to visit Breckenridge, which is both a mountain town and ski resort. This resort provides around 2,350 acres of the best skiing around, and there are art events, festivals, and shops to visit in the town.

Visit Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It's located on the side of Cheyenne Mountain, and it's both the highest zoo in the country in terms of elevation and the only mountain zoo. Feed and see giraffes up close at this zoo.

When the snow melts in Aspen, it’s time for the premier culinary event of the year, the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen. The three-day event draws celebrity chefs such as Carla Hall, Gail Simmons, Martha Stewart and more, plus renowned winemakers and epicurean insiders as well as everyday food lovers!

Sports and Entertainment in Colorado

Colorado has teams in all the major franchises. You can enjoy watching Denver Broncos football, Denver Barbarians rugby, Colorado Avalanche ice hockey, and Denver Nuggets basketball in the fall and winter. In the warmer months, check out baseball with the Colorado Rockies or soccer with the Colorado Rapids.

For some unforgettable family fun, head to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. It's the only mountain-top theme park in the nation. You can take a gondola from the valley floor in Glenwood Springs to reach the park's entrance 1,300 feet above the Colorado River. Once you're at the park, you can see for miles from the cafe's viewing deck.

Thunder Valley National Motocross is a great event for everyone! The thrills, the spills, the noise, the dirt...it all makes for an exhilarating day no one will soon forget. And since motocross racing is all outdoors, you’ll get to spend a day outside watching racers do some amazing tricks, jumps, bumps, and turns... and having a blast at the same time.

Highways in Colorado

There are many interstates that intersect Colorado. I-25 (north/south), I-70 (east/west) and I-76 (east/west) are the main interstates. I-225 (Aurora) and I-270 (Denver) are perimeters of I-25 and I-70.
