The North Dakota State Fair is where summer shines! The state’s largest event, it lasts nine nights and has concerts, live bands, rodeo events, bull riding, auto races, food and drink concessions, carnival rides and games and much more. The fair also highlights the best of North Dakota with over 40,000 FFA, 4-H and Open Exhibits that showcase livestock, arts and crafts and much more. It’s a family-friendly event that truly has something for everyone, making it a summertime bucket list item!
North Dakota State Fair Hours:
State Fair Office: 8am – 9pm
Shuttle buses: 10am - 5pm
Commercial I and III Buildings: 11am -10pm
Commercial II Building, 10am – 9pm
Outdoor exhibits: 11am – 9pm
Carnival: 12pm - Midnight
Family members both young and old are sure to find something they love at the North Dakota State Fair. From live music to bull riding, carnival rides, games and more, there are plenty of competitions and attractions to partake in and exhibits to peruse.
Ranch Rodeo: A ranch hand competition with events such as trailer loading, team mugging, wild cow milking, and more! North Dakota State Fair Ranch Rodeo tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 7-12, and 6 and under are free.
Enduro: See which car can complete the laps the fastest. There are two races to enjoy: Enduro Races and the Outlaw Enduro Races. The races are included with the Grandstand Showpass, and all seats are General Admission.
Free Stages: Free Stages acts include Daryl’s Racing Pigs, Fur Traders Rendezvous, ND Game and Fish Outdoors Skills Park, Dakota Talent, College Save Mural, High Dive, Daniel Kosel, Crop Plot, Fritters, Chris Mabrey, Carrie Cunningham, Mike Walker, All-Star Stunt Dogs, Jared Sherlock, Remembering Our Fallen, and Shark Encounter.
Carnival: Daily Unlimited Carnival Ride Wristbands are $35 and Mega Ride Passes, which are good all 9 Days, are $70. Check here for the days and hours the carnival will be open!
Contests: Contests include Color the Fair Contest, Kids’ Tractor Pedal Pull, Crowd Pleasers Karaoke Contest, Kids’ Cupcake Decorating Contest, Milk A Cow Contest, Hippity Hop Barrel, and 4th and 5th Grade Essay Contest.

Concerts: The 2020 lineup is still being determined, but in the past, the North Dakota State Fair has hosted world-famous acts like Rascal Flatts and Tim McGraw will be playing at the North Dakota State Fair! For more details and tickets, click here.
Making your experience even more fun, comfortable and easy, camping at the North Dakota State Fair is available! Camping is $180 for all 9 days of the fair and includes a 30-amp electrical hook-up. Tent spaces are also available for $15 a night. Depending on availability, single night reservations can be reserved for $25 a night.

The comfort and ease of camping at the North Dakota State Fair is possible, even if you don’t own an RV of your own. It’s easy to rent an RV from RVshare, and the options are endless. Parking is free and available on the East side of the fairgrounds, accessible from County Road 19.
A free park and ride service is also available from Dakota Square Mall, leaving from JCPenney Court and dropping off right at Gate E at the fairgrounds. Hours are 1pm – 1am, all days of the fair.
Tickets can be purchased online for not only gate admission (daily and seasonal) but also Grandstand Showpass, Mega Ride, Camping passes, beer tickets, ranch rodeo and NPRA bull riding.
Adult Gate admission (ages 13 and up): $10/day
Jr. Gate admission (ages 7-12): $5/day
Season pass (for more than three days at the fair): Jr. - $15 and Adults - $25
Keep in mind that if you purchase tickets to any of the concerts, gate admission is separate and is not included with your concert ticket.
