The Mississippi State Fair, which runs for two weeks during October, has been held for 161 years. With such a history, it's no surprise that the fair attracts people from all over the country to celebrate the best of Mississippi. There are plenty of family-friendly activities, including pie-eating contests and livestock shows. For the adults, they're welcome to try some of the best food in the state or browse the antique car show.
With each year, the state fair adds more exciting activities. Last year, the fair featured a new attraction known as the Ice Dome. This indoor skating arena offered fun for the entire family. You can enjoy some of the other fan-favorite events, including the horse, mule, and pony pull. If you're a foodie, don’t forget to check out the MS Beef Celebrity Cook-Off. Those who love live music will not want to miss a chance to catch some of the biggest acts as they hit the stage. For 2020, the Mississippi State Fair will run October 7 through 18. It's held at the Fairgrounds Complex in Jackson, which covers over 700 acres of land. The Mississippi Coliseum is also a part of the Fairgrounds Complex, and it offers more space for visitors to enjoy. Throughout the year, Jackson is home to many different events. However, the star of the show is the annual state fair. The address of the Fairgrounds Complex is:
