Nothing helps you get acquainted with a state quite like heading to the fair. You can find the agriculture, crafts, art, livestock, and activities that make that state unique, all in one place. Of course, along with showcasing the state’s bounty, the fair is home to rides, carnival games, concerts, and more. The Delaware State Fair shares all these and more with those who attend.

ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT

The Delaware State Fair offers a lot to do! View the livestock that has been entered into competition, sample delicious fair food, shop for souvenirs and unique items, or ride the midway rides and play carnival games. When you’ve finished all the activities and need a rest - head to the beer and wine garden for a drink and a comfy place to sit.

ON-SITE AMENITIES

Amenities such as First Aid stations, restrooms, and ATMs are available throughout the grounds. You can rent strollers and wheelchairs on-site as well. Coolers are not allowed in, but there are plenty of food and beverage options at the fair.

Finally, be sure to check out the acts on the main stage - TobyMac is scheduled to play and more acts will be added soon. You do have to purchase separate concert tickets for these events and you can find out more about them here

RVING AT THE EVENT

Although RV camping is available at the fairgrounds during the off-season (Aug.-June), they have very limited spaces available during the fair itself. You can call 302-398-3269 ext. 203 to inquire about camping during the fair.

Fortunately, there are plenty of other campgrounds nearby as well. You can enjoy a full day at the fair and then return to a comfy bed and your favorite food, right in an RV nearby. Renting an RV with RVshare means even if you don’t own an RV, you can enjoy the ease of being home with only a very short drive.

Here are a few other places to camp:

  • G&R Campground - has shaded and open sites, and sites that offer water, electric and sewer, just water and electric, or primitive sites with no utilities. They also have a pool, rec hall, play area, picnic area with a pavilion, horseshoe pits, hot showers, and a general store.
  • Homestead Campground - offers campsites with electric, water, and sewer along with more primitive sites that only offer water and electric. They have 30 and 50-amp service. They are pet-friendly and also have two Olympic--sized pools, a kids’ splash pad, horseshoe pits, and a game room.
  • Treasure Beach RV Park & Campground - has water, electric, sewer, and cable TV hookups. There are hot showers and a dump station. The campground is on the shores of Assawoman Bay.
